Wisdom Question
Drawing from Ephesians 5:15-16, we're reminded that Paul urged early Christians to 'be very careful how you live—not as unwise but as wise.' The core question isn't whether something is technically sinful or legal, but rather: 'Is this wise?' Many of our struggles like broken relationships, financial disasters, spiritual drift—don't come from crossing clear moral lines but from living too close to the edge. By asking 'Is this wise?' considering our past experiences and future goals, we create a margin of safety that protects us from one misstep leading to catastrophe. This isn't about legalism but about maturity—understanding that wisdom fills the gap between what's permissible and what's beneficial. When we embrace this question in our finances, relationships, time management, and spiritual disciplines, we position ourselves not just to avoid disaster but to actively pursue the abundant life God desires for us.
